Chico Velo is unique with it's Roadside Assistance Program (RAP). Every year Chico Velo member receive a RAP card that gives them a free taxi cab ride from and to any paved road in Butte County if they experience a physical or mechancial breakdown while on a bike ride.

Riders trade in their VeloRAP card for the free ride and the taxi company bills Chico Velo and the club pays the bill. Carry the card with you on your rides and should you have a problem find a way to call the cab company to arrange transport.

The VeloRAP program gives you two free rescues a year. One ticket is mailed out all to current club members at the beginning of the year and a second is mailed to the member if the first one is properly used and that member remains a dues paying member.

We feel this is a valuable program the provides a measure of security for club members while on rides. We only ask that members use the program only in situations for which it is intended -- mechanical or physical breakdowns while on a bike ride.
